This case study focuses on the use of the Portuguese publication repository infrastructure for OS and address the knowledge diffusion via collaborations and the visibility of individual research institutions, and collaboration.
Using a quantitative methodology, PathOS will (i) similar to the French case study, monitor the use and uptake of open access publications, and (ii) do a citation and network analysis to derive collaborations in specific domains, regions and sectors. Using a comparative approach (e.g., similar size country with non-OA infrastructure like Greece) we aim at getting a better understanding of the causal effects of such an OA infrastructure.
The main experts we will mobilize are the institutional actors managing the Portuguese infrastructure (RCAAP), rectors and policy offers in the national research funding organization (FCT).
