Train-the-Trainer Course with UKRN

The PathOS Train-the-Trainer Course, delivered in partnership with the UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN), took place online on 12 March 2025. The course equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate the impact of Open Science using the PathOS Open Science Indicator Handbook.  Participants will learn to use measurement tools from the PathOS Open Science Indicator Handbook and explore the complexities of causal inference in Open Science.

In addition to its analytical components, the programme included a pedagogical unit designed to support participants in delivering PathOS content within their own institutions. By the end of the course, attendees were able to assess impact pathways, apply measurement tools, and explain the causal mechanisms through which Open Science generates value.

Eligibility: This training was limitedto representatives from UKRN institutions who have been selected to participate.

Future PathOS E-Learning Course
Coming in Q1/2026

As part of the PathOS exploitation activities, an Open Science e-learning course will be developed after the project’s conclusion, building on the results and methodologies created within PathOS. The course will be led and maintained by OpenAIRE, which will transform the project’s evidence and insights into a comprehensive training resource for policymakers and other stakeholders.

This self-paced learning programme will integrate key findings, methodological guidance, and practical examples derived from PathOS case studies and related OpenAIRE initiatives. It will feature interactive modules, expert insights, and real-world applications that demonstrate how to assess and monitor the academic, societal, and economic impacts of Open Science.

Through this collaboration, OpenAIRE will ensure the long-term sustainability and outreach of PathOS results, offering an accessible and evidence-based e-learning resource that supports the broader Open Science policy ecosystem.
